Black Ballet History Month!...Balletist Of The Week!...Amanda Morgan!

Yes!...Black Ballet History...

...is 'So Far Away!'

We now remember, and say the name...

...Amanda Morgan!

Amanda is making great news all over the

place! She studied hard at DT Northwest

and NWBallet School, doing year rounds

and summer intensives at Boston Ballet

and especially Alonzo King LINES Ballet.

Amanda then joined Pacific North West

Ballet and quickly rose to prominence

as the First Black Soloist there. But she

is making an even greater impact

choreographing at Film Festivals, and

featuring her own films at the Northwest

Film Forum. Thank her for the birthing

of the Velocity Dance Center. Amanda

also created the very popular Seattle

Project, which premieres up and coming

controversial filmmakers!

"She's Busting Down Ceilings All Over

The Place!"

Amanda has a mid-upper-lip

Winge's Peak (elatus labialis wingeulus)

called "The Way!"

Black Ballet History Month!...Balletist Of The Week!...Geoffrey Holder!

Yes!...Black Ballet History...

...is 'So 'The Hottest Ticket In Town!''

We remember, and say the name...

...Geoffrey Holder!

First, this Man, a strong 'Lover-of-Life,' who was

also very good at dancing and acting and singing,

was many parts a brilliant Showman! We knew

this and he always satiated our deep-throated

entertainment appetites! Each of his big-stage

performances started out with great airs of

anticipation, like the audience members couldn't

believe it, and that they were the luckiest people

in the world, because they were going to see

the 'Great One,' live...right now, to give them

more than their money's worth!

Some observers still can recount, with

amazement, what they witnessed first hand!

"You Got People Still Talkin'!"

Geoffrey also happens to have a...'Huge'...mid-upper-lip

called "Look!"

Black Ballet History Month!...Balletist Of The Week!...Preston W. Dugger III!

Yes!...Black Ballet History...

...is 'So Front Street!'

We remember, and say the name...

...Preston W. Dugger III !

This photogenic and spirited young man

has so much working for him...he is to be

enjoyed! It seems that many Ballerinas

compete for his attention and step up

their games to get noticed by him.

Preston has shifted gears and found his

calling to perform in Broadway

Musicals. No worries, though... because

he sure does have what it takes to make

the World better!

"He's Gonna Be Breakin' Some Legs!"

Preston also has a mid-upper-lip

Winge's Peak (elatus labialis wingeulus)

called "Encore!"

Black Ballet History Month!...Balletist Of The Week!...Paunika Jones!

Yes!...Black Ballet History...

...is 'So Rectifying!'

We remember, and say the name...

...Paunika Jones!

Paunika excels in her 'Job' in the King's

Court! She telegraphs her fine motions

precisely and instinctively! To me, it seems

like she's 'having a party' when she dances,

even if it's a melancholy piece. She

continuates in her Space/Time directions,

velocity and acceleration included, down

to the practiced nanosecond! I'm so

thankful for the social media videos on her.

Otherwise, I wouldn't be aware of this

'Force in the Danseuse Universe!'

"I Feel So Good When She Dances!"

Paunika also has a mid-upper-lip

Winge's Peak (elatus labialis wingeulus)

called "Substance!"

Black Ballet History Month!...Balletist Of The Week!...Alexandra Terry!

Yes!...Black Ballet History...

...is 'So Encouraging!'

We remember, and say the name...

....Alexandra Terry!

Alexandra beautifully exceeds the

rigorous standards of the King's Court

Ballerinas! Her jumps are almost

stratospheric and her pirouettes are

rotationally crisp! While seeing her

perform, I started out trying to grade

her technical methods. But I soon put

down my pen and paper to holistically

soak up Alexandra's strong presence

and effect on the night's production!

Alexandra also has a mid-upper-lip

Winge's Peak (elatus labialis wingeulus)

called "Vibrance!"
