Yes!...Black Ballet History...
India has the body and the skills and the
determination to do it all! She made
history as the First Black in 75 years
to dance the role of Dewdrop in George
Balanchine’s The Nutcracker at the
New York City Ballet! India made it her
business to participate in so many Pieces
right off the bat! And, of course, she did
much of her foundational training at the
Dance Theatre of Harlem, before
School of American Ballet!
India has a mid-upper-lip
Winge's Peak (elatus labialis wingeulus)
called "The Cloud!"
The Founder of Black Ballet History Month,
Ralph C. Winge, D.D.S.,
USC Dental School Graduate,
and elucidator of elatus labialis wingeulus.
