We remember, and say the name...
...Awa Joannis!
Awa is the first woman of African
Descent to join the Paris Opera Ballet
Company, the world's oldest ballet
group. She is now one of four there.
She has performed in at least 11
repertoires with the firm. It's no
surprise that she has some of the
most admired, fluid, and articulate
moves!
"I'm checking your Style, Lady!"
Awa has a mid-upper-lip
Winge's Peak (elatus labialis wingeulus)
called "Wallah!"
