We remember, and say the name...
...Katlyn Addison!
Katlyn, born in Ontario, Canada,
ferociously began her career at the age
of ten! Ballet companies like the
Northwest, Boston, and Houston vied
for her attention and perfectionism.
Bursting on the scene as the first
Black Principal at Ballet West, and the
first Black Principal to play the role of
"Sugar Plum Fairy" in the Nutcracker,
along with roles in Sleeping Beauty,
Swan Lake, Cinderella, and Jewels,
among others, she caused 'Tsunamis'
in the ballet environment!. She has
also created and
choreographed impactful and
much-talked-about new works. And
you can bet that she is placing the next
generations of performers on her
shoulders so they can make bold
strides far into the future!
"You Can't Beat That!"
Katlyn has a mid-upper-lip
Winge's Peak (elatus labialis wingeulus)
called "The Curve!"
Black Ballet History Month was

and Organizations who
tirelessly gave, and are giving, their
time, talent, and physical treasure to
exquisitely create, interpret, and put
on historical and memorable
Professional Ballet Productions the
World over and to teach and mentor
upcoming generations of performers!
The Founder of Black Ballet History Month,
