Black Ballet History Month!...Our Very First...Balletist Of The Week! ..."Black Ballet's Godfather!"...The Honorable ...Alvin Ailey, Jr.!

Yes!...Black Ballet History...And Our Inaugural Honoree...

...are 'So Mesmerizing!'

We now remember, and say the name...

...Alvin Ailey, Jr.!

Godfather Alvin paradigm-shifted the

arcing trajectory of the King's court

of Classical Ballet permanently!

He displayed his mercurial talents as

an activist, a dancer, choreographer,

director, educator, and more! In 1958,

he founded the culturally-iconic Alvin

Ailey Dance Theater and to nurture and

to support Blacks in the Profession.

In New York, December 4th is Alvin

Ailey Day! His choreographed

masterpiece, Revelations, is still

heralded as a 'Triumph in Human

Movement' and is still one of the

most popular and most performed

Ballets in the World! He is, for

sure, still gathering hundreds of

students, past and future, to stand

on his broad and strong horizontal

shoulders to see excellence in

their futures!

"Hat's Off To You, My Man!"

Mr. Ailey has a mid-upper-lip

called "Starry Nights!"

Black Ballet History Month was

 founded by Ralph Winge, D.D.S.

in 2025 to recognize, celebrate,

and honor, with deep pride, the

countless Black Men, Women,

and Organizations who

tirelessly gave, and are giving, their

time, talent, and physical treasure to

exquisitely create, interpret, and put

on historical and memorable

Professional Ballet Productions the

World over and to teach and mentor

upcoming generations of performers!

The Founder of Black Ballet History Month,

Ralph Winge, D.D.S.,

is also a Classical Ballet enthusiast,

USC Dental School Graduate,

and elucidator of elatus labialis wingeulus.
